Surprise Pregnancies Following Vasectomy Can Happen—So Check Your Swimmers

Yet 50% of men who undergo vasectomies never get re-tested! SpermCheck Vasectomy is an easy, at-home solution.

Developed by renowned scientists at the University of Virginia, SpermCheck Fertility’s pioneering technology is recommended by urologists. The test has provided trusted and accurate results to thousands of men since 2010, and we’re ready to help you too.

Urologists recommend testing at least twice following a vasectomy procedure

Urologists recommend testing your sperm count at least twice following a vasectomy procedure, generally at 60 and 90 days post surgery, and once a year afterwards for ongoing checkups to ensure you are no longer fertile.

SpermCheck Vasectomy is trusted by urologists as an easy, private solution for checking post-vasectomy sperm count at home.

Easy to Read Results

The easy-to-read results show whether your sperm count is at a very low level, indicating a successful vasectomy.

LOW: If you see a Control Line (marked as “C” on the SpermCheck Device) but not a Test Line (marked as “T” on the SpermCheck Device) your sperm count is extremely low, at, or below a level shown by scientific studies to present very little risk of pregnancy

HIGH: If you see both a Control Line (marked as “C” on the SpermCheck Device) and a Test Line (marked as “T” on the SpermCheck Device) your sperm count is above safe levels and there is still a risk of pregnancy with unprotected intercourse.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q1. Does a high sperm level test result mean that my vasectomy failed?

It does not necessarily mean that your vasectomy failed, but it does indicate that additional testing is needed. If you have recently had a vasectomy, it's likely that your body just needs more time to eliminate the remaining sperm. We recommend waiting at least two weeks before testing again. If you have tested high more than once, you should talk to your doctor about what to do next.

Q2. What does a low test result mean?

A low result indicates your sperm count is very low. The highest concentration of sperm that can still give a low result with SpermCheck Vasectomy is so low that the chance of achieving a pregnancy is extremely small. A low result does not necessarily mean that your sperm count is zero. However, most men who get a low result four (4) months or more after vasectomy either already have a sperm count of zero or will soon. This is why it is important that you follow your doctor’s advice about when to take the test after your vasectomy.
